Paula Dayana Saneaux Ovalle

Son las dos. 2008

Acrylic on canvas

172.7 x 131.9 cm

This young artist presents a story of the female body using a synthesis between the classical tradition and the contemporary. Her realistic images remark the woman’s body and its anatomic and expressive possibilities, accentuated by the dramatic treatment of light in a baroque manner. In the space, the artist includes today’s elements and accessories confirming the hybrid quality of her language.

The painting “Son las Dos” retakes the interest for the female figure, expanding its meaning. Not just presenting the beauty of the lines and proportions of the body but presenting it as a place where feelings, frustrations and a whole interior, lies in a constant confrontation of it’s genre.
