The painter Paula Saneaux supported for a Canadian Foundation

Paula Saneaux believes in the potential of the dominican to enjoy art. In her words, the only thing that is missing from the dominican artistic intelligence exploding is “a guide”. At 25 years old, she knows there are people who trust her creative capacity. Recently, the Canadian “Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation” gave her a grant of US$11,600.00 for the creation of her work. “Just to make one painting can costs around 500 or 600 dollars”, she calculates.

Paula found the foundation while studying Fine Arts in Parsons of New York. “However, I had a lot of limitations trying to get financial help for not being an american resident or citizen”, she says.

The slides she sent where her salvation. Her artwork, enlighten visions of female characters and talk about particular problems of the dominican woman. “Just my subjects know what is behind the paintings. I tell them what I desire in the image, they pose, I take a picture and then I paint”, the artist explains.
