Santo Domingo. “Ellas” is not the name of a frivolous magazine were divas and pretentious women look at themselves or glamour in mirrors asking, “who’s the prettiest of them all?”

“Ellas” is the show of Paula Saneaux at Funglode, where she previously exhibited “Las Pracas”,  the existential scream that immediately talked to us about an original and mature artist in her youth. Her reflections were lucid and obstinate and she threw in our faces, cutting objects, spines and naked bodies that made us feel sad.

“Ellas” seems to continue that same mapped course, maybe it helps her end the theme or forces her to rise to a new cycle, because sometimes what is redundant, bores (it’s a danger, but not in this case). The important thing is that she, Paula Saneaux has come back with her canvases, her dominium of pastel colors and her existential restlessness of a XXI century woman.
